Eliminate Distraction & Focus On Your Passion

One MASSIVE word of advice I can give to everyone who is struggling with their time right now is this…

If you AREN’T making much money yet and you are trying to build more than ONE business… then that is the problem.

It’s pointless trying to make multiple sources of income if you aren’t making money from ANY.

Turn On Your Speakers…

Look at everything you’ve got going on and ELIMINATE some of them.

What are you most passionate about? Focus on that.

Get rid of the rest. I promise you that if you commit to mastering ONE thing really well and STOP trying to do too many things, then you’ll start to see success.

I’m sure you know what happens if you use a magnifying glass with a sheet of paper in the sun… the intense focus sets the paper on fire.

If you try to move the magnifying glass in too many areas, it won’t set on fire…

It’s the same with business.

I know many of you are struggling to make money and from my productivity perspective I know that trying to do too many things is the ROOT cause of it.

Look up the pareto principle (80/20) rule if you don’t know about it.

———————————————————————————————-

Early next week, I’m releasing a 24 minute & 20 second training video which will help you get FOCUSED on your tasks & business… look out for it and schedule in a 30 minute block to watch the video…

You’ll get back at least TRIPLE your time investment each week when you follow exactly what I explain in the video…

Leave us a comment below to explain your situation right now. Is lack of time your biggest problem? If not… then what is?

  2. This is so true!!! I know that I have struggled with staying FOCUSED! I am victim of wanting to do 50,000 things at one time and becoming overwhelmed to the point where I get nothing done. I have implemented this FOCUS strategy where I turned off my emails, facebook, etc and focused on getting one thing done to completion….and it worked like a charm. So, I know this to be 100% true. Great video and post. I will go look for the 24 min video to see the rest….Thanks for sharing!

It’s hard, very hard to brake habits… I am fighting for the last two months… and still could not FOCUS on one particular business… that is a shame since I ma old enough to truly understand how bad that is.. but I still do it.

My devoted and caring coach is very frustrated because I am not completing tasks… MY FOCUS is not 100% where it should be/… I am sorry for him and for me.

I got a little better but not as much I should.. will improve soon.

Thanks so much for your article on this subject… I truly thank you and look forward to hear and read more of what you have to share.

    Thanks again,

    Hi Gavin,

you are providing great products and support to help with keeping on track with the work load.
Establishing new habits, or even slightly different ones can be a challenge and it is good to sometimes have a ‘map’to navigate through the unknown maze of changes.
Well done for having created something that can facilitate the process.

  6. Gavin, so many of us do not understand how to develop the correct mindset to operate a real business. It doesn’t feel like that 9-5 4-/40 job we have or had.

We did not surround ourselves with people who are real entrepreneurs or just folks who always worked for themselves. We are not talking about those who we all know makes ends meet by street smarts.

That is the problem with staying organized running your own business. You were never shown how. You had other tell you when and how to do things. I feel being creative and remaining patient will support learning how.

The methods you stated are great. Everyone should watch this video over several times and allow it to manifest. Your not going to get it all done withing days. This is a lifetime journey and not your hobby. So the faster you understand that. The better you will be at learning something about operational production.

Gavin, your vast passion on being organized is known globally. Your a great coach and visionary in our industry. You have a unique way of getting down to the nuts and bolts in being organized in one’s business.

I do appreciate all you do and look forward in your next new article that I feel will be very supportive.

    Hey Gavin,

Excellent read, focus is so important in any business to achieve success.

I realize that it is hard especially for the new folks just starting out in the industry to attain focus when there are so many different programs and mountains of information that one has available to them … much of it free and so easy to access.

Passion needs to come first, then focus then commitment must follow.

Thanks so much for sharing Gavin,

  8. Great information Gavin, appreciate the insight on this topic. I have been working very diligently the past 3 weeks to get one project completed. Even tho I know almost everything else can wait I am still challenged to stay “focused on the prize”. Your tips help, Thanks!

  9. “Jack of all trades, master of none”. It feels much better focusing on just one venture then a bunch all at once. You begin to feel more and more complete as you are able focus your efforts on a single project within your business.

I have tried grabbing hold of every new thing I see and failing in all of them. Thanks for encouraging us all to find a passion and pursue it with all we’ve got. This will work!

    Thanks!

So often we are taught that multi-tasking is the way to success in our lives. Trouble is, this idea does not work for us very well. Focus is the key to being and feeling successful. And the best way to do that is to eliminate the things you don’t care about so much and concentrate on those you do.

Sounds simple when its written out like that, but for some reason, something gets lost in the translation between seeing it written and implementation into our lives.

But worth doing, that editing of things to do. Absolutely. :-)

So many times it is so easy to get distracted by the new best thing to come along. We start and stop and turn and double back and because we have spent so much time being busy, we have not accomplished very much. Thank you, Gavin, his is the perfect quote for summing this up.

Yes I agree that focus is the key to enable ourselves to stay on task and on track. I think we all need to realise that it is something that can be learned. If we choose to do the hard yards and set about in discipline and practise then eventually it will become second nature to all thet we set about to do and not just what we are most passioniate about.

A wise man once said: “The only reason men fail is broken focus.” And that’s what Gavin is talking about. Focus on one business and make it work. If you want to add on a second business to add to your income later, fine, but at least get one to work. And to build that one business whether it’s blogging, network marketing or some other home-based business, you need to stay focused!

I think that few people succeed in achieving their goals even with the best laid plans because life continuously presents challenges and distractions. The key to success is focused, constant and unyielding action. I have created a support system that keeps me focused as I pursue my goals.

It helps to structure your work environment, family and relationships,
financial habits and daily regimen to help support and reinforce

  19. My method of staying focused is what I call “focused energy”.

I set aside time to do specific tasks, and then I do NOT allow myself to reschedule or re-shuffle the tasks. I’ve found that this has been super helpful in getting things done. Otherwise, I would drive myself CRAZY with all of the little things that need to be done!

    Looking forward to your training!

As one who understands very well what it’s like to be scattered and pushing in too many directions (business-wise), I can also vouch for the power of focus. If you have a business that you like, find a way to effectively promote it that you enjoy, and focus – become the master of that technique. Then move to others when the timing is right.

    Hello Gavin,
You ARE the expert! Focus has been both the friend and enemy of my entrepreneurial career. There is no doubt that when I work on one thing at a time and give it 100% effort I have achieved multiple six figure results. Conversely, allowing the internet to distract me in one too many directions, and being over committed has been a negative. Very few marketers are able to successfully work more than one company at a time and achieve six and seven figure income. Affiliate programs aside. I look forward to seeing your 24-20 video! everything you do and teach has always been superb and I consider you a valuable asset to my knowledge base.
