Step 2 is comment! But this needs to be GREAT quality comment, and not just a one liner… I’ll show you a GREAT comment and a poor comment in a second, but first I just wanted to mention something…
I remember when I first got online (many years ago) and people said commenting was one of the best ways to get my name out there, build backlinks to my blog and showcase myself as an authority, but I didn’t know what to write. I struggled, and sometimes felt silly commenting.
But…
I persisted and battled through my comfort zone and over time I gained MUCH more knowledge in my subject and topic because I was putting into writing what I was learning. I was teaching while I was commenting, I was giving back to other people who’d written fantastic blog posts and I started to feel GREAT about myself!
So, if you aren’t sure what to write in a blog comment, just go for it… do your best! Nobody will judge you, just practice what we teach. Remember the 3rd training you went through in phase 1 when I talked much more about why to comment and the benefits? (Go back to that training to remind yourself of why and how beneficial it is)
Make sure you look at commenting on people’s blogs as a way to connect with the person also, and for them to get to know you better. Think of the 3 steps as a SYNERGY, rather than ‘HAVING’ to comment… Enjoy the process, it’s fun
(PLEASE NOTE UPDATE: “EDIT CELL COMMENT” feature. All you have to enter in this area is the name of the person and do a “enter/return” key to enter the next person’s name. Example: TSAmastery or TSAmastery X2 if you syndicated it twice. Dave)
Very IMPORTANT Note
When you comment on another TSA member’s blog posts or Facebook content (and that comment is visible to other people), please DO NOT say you are from TSA in the actual comment itself. (You can say this when you send an email or a Facebook message, but not in the actual comment itself)
People come to a blog, they read the content, they look at the blog comments and they see “hey, great post, it’s John from TSA here…. just leaving my comment!” – They think… what is TSA? So they head on over and see it’s a place to leave blog comments on other people’s blogs! OUCH…
This just DESTROYED the credibility of that blog because they can see that some of the comments are forced comments.
This is a two way street… The HUGE benefit of what we do is that yes, some of the comments on our posts are from people who may not want to comment, BUT… many blogs you go to, you will like and will visit again in the future, PLUS all the comments on your blog post will encourage non-TSA members to comment back on the content.
So, let me explain the difference between a poor quality comment and a GREAT quality comment.
A Poor Quality Comment
A poor quality comment is just a one or two line comment which doesn’t really say anything about the post and is generally vague. These comments look like SPAM and unfortunately make you look like you don’t know anything and you are just commenting for the sake of it. So, ALWAYS write something related to the post, give your opinion or view point and don’t always feel you have to agree with the author of the blog either… feel free to be CREATIVE and be true to yourself.
This is an example of a poor quality comment…
Excellent post Gavin, I wish I knew this 2 years ago!
A GREAT Quality Comment
A GREAT quality comment is a comment which talks about the blog post, picks something specific out about the post and then delivers a viewpoint, opinion, example, feedback or thoughts on that post. Just do your best… over time, your comments will get better. Think of it as a conversation between 2 people. They write a blog post, and you talk back to them or to another person who has commented to engage them in conversation.
Think of it as FUN and enjoy the process! Use it as a way to communicate with other people.
Dave and Dawn…loved hearing YOUR story and what brought you to developing TSA. You guys are true Leaders and have created a very strong Community of Leaders and future Leaders.
I am thrilled to be part of the TSA family ( if I’m accepted, that is)
The only thing missing from your video was the rest of your family…they stole the show in your recent video…
Gavin… great blog post and you gave some VERY POWERFUL reasons why blog comments are so important. There are certainly many benefits that we will ALL gain from the 3 Step System. Since I am a Personal Development Advocate, I love the fact that the community is so strong in that regard.
Please ONLY give yourself 5 points on the spreadsheet if you have written a GREAT comment, and NOT a poor comment.
What Happens If I Don’t Like The Blog?
If you are in a syndication group for the week and for any reason you don’t agree with or like a blogger’s content, and if it doesn’t feel good for you, then do not make a comment. Don’t feel you MUST comment on their content because they are in your group, but ALWAYS try to find something in common with them first.
The BEST thing to do in this situation is to find someone else within the TSA who you connect with, and have built up a great relationships with, or maybe they are in the same industry or niche as you and comment on their content. This way you still hit your minimum counters.
Over the months you are in TSA, you may form your own mini group/tribe who all comment on each others blogs in addition to the weekly groups.
Commenting Back
Remember, people who come to your blog and comment on your content are doing it out of the goodness of their own hearts… you MUST reply back to GOOD QUALITY comments on your own blog.
Start a dialogue with the person, get to know them, and reply back to them. It shows you are a real person who doesn’t HIDE behind a website. When you start to display your face on your own blog, and start to prove your authority, people will come back much more and comment regularly because they know you are there.
Treat your commentators with respect and they will do the same for you.
Requirements & Points for Commenting
To stay within the ELITE groups in the 3 Step System and gain the most benefit, you need to make a minimum of 13 blog comments each week.
- Always comment on the TSAMasteryBlog.com posts – We are giving you DOUBLE points for a great quality comment when you comment here. (This helps us get our message out to help more people)
- Always comment on the 9 people in your syndication group’s content. (If you don’t like or agree with the person’s content, then find someone else in the spreadsheet)
- Comment on the TOP syndicator of the week’s blog content
- Comment on the TOP blog commentator of the week’s blog content
- Comment for a second time on your group leader’s blog content (Choose a different post for the 2nd comment)
So, the group leader gets 2 comments on 2 separate blog posts. (This is their reward for being group leader)
IMPORTANT - Make sure you watch the video on this page as Dave shows you a NEW requirement when blog commenting. In the Spreadsheet, you now MUST enter in the names of the people whose blog you commented on for the week.
Syndication Points
Each great comment you make is worth 5 syndication points, unless you comment on the TSAMasteryBlog when it’s worth double points, so 10 points.
Total syndication points = 13 comments x 5 points = 65 + 5 extra points for commenting on TSAMasteryBlog = 70 syndication points generated by your blog commenting.
If you have ANY questions related to this lesson, please post it as a comment below. In fact, as ALWAYS, write a comment below anyway and let us know what you learned, any thoughts or feedback you have.
