Day 11 – How To Share Correctly – Part 2

This is part 2 of the Share step. In this training I’m going to show you how to share content correctly on many of the basic websites for maximum exposure. You’ll learn the best practices for each of the sites and I’ve recorded videos to show you how to submit your content and other people’s content to these sites effectively.

Facebook Profile / Fan Pages

There are 3 places you can share content on Facebook.

  1. Your Facebook profile
  2. Your Facebook Fan Page,
  3. Other Tribe/Sharing Community pages

Think about the people who are your friends on Facebook and the people who are following you. Generally your FB friends are old school friends, work friends, business friends etc… so they are interested in a wide range of things.

1. Your Personal Facebook Profile

When you share a piece of content on your profile, are your friends/followers benefiting from it? If not, then DON’T share it. It just makes you look like a spammer :-( People actually zone out from your profile and don’t bother to look at your stuff because you are just sharing anything and everything to them.

If it benefits them and if 80% of your friends on Facebook are people who are interested in your topic/niche, then go for it… SHARE the content that will help them!

Kim wrote an excellent post about using the Facebook privacy control so you don’t annoy your family and friends when sharing your content.

2. Your Facebook Fan Page

By now, you should have a Fan Page set up on Facebook which is aimed at your target market and niche. On that page you deliver GREAT content and value to your followers who come back time and time again because of what you share with them.

These people come to you to LEARN from you. So, make sure you SHARE related content with them. Before you share the content, think about it for a second… will my fans/followers love me for sharing this with them, or not like it? If they will LOVE you for it, then SHARE it with them.

If it’s a product, service, blog post, article, ebook, video, quote etc… which will help them, then share it. It might also be a related product/service which isn’t directly related to your industry but you know your followers will need it also, then share it.

3. Facebook Tribe Pages/ Sharing Communities

There are hundreds of tribe pages online which allow you to post and share your content and other people’s content on those pages. I’ve listed some of these places below.

If you don’t feel you want to share a tribe members content to your own Facebook or Twitter stream/followers, then a tribe page on Facebook may be a perfect place to share.

But…

DO NOT just post and share links/content on these pages! They are NOT places to SPAM other people’s content on… it’s incredibly important you take part and interact on these pages. Comment, like, share, some of the other content on the pages and make friends with people. Click on links and browse all the great content. Make sure you comment on the tribe pages also

If you are just going to use the pages as a place to spam content, without interacting, then DON’T use the pages at all.

They are all communities within themselves, so get to know people there.

List of Facebook Tribe Fan Pages to Share Content

Please also CHECK the rules of each of these Tribe Pages as some of the may NOT want you to share content on the pages.

(Have a community page that allows content sharing we don’t know about? Be sure to include a link to the facebook tribe page for it with your comment below.)

Twitter

Twitter is an excellent place to share & Re-Tweet GREAT content related to your niche and target market. Have you seen the term RT on peoples Twitter posts before? This means Re-Tweet… so, when you find an excellent post, video, product, quote from someone else on Twitter or a blog post you’d like to share, if you use the term RT before the actual post, it shows people it’s something of value and you are Re-Tweeting it to your followers.

Many times people use RT @username before the actual content, which means that you are Re-Tweeting a specific person’s content and mentioning the source.

It’s an excellent and effective way of spreading a message virally from one person to another.

Most people within TSA should also have the DiggDigg plugin configured to allow the Twitter button or TweetMeme button on their blog, so again it’s just a matter of clicking the button and adding a bit of text which GRABS people’s attention.

StumbleUpon & Digg

If you don’t yet have an account with StumbleUpon and Digg, please head on over and create an account. It’s VERY important you now get your account set up as sharing on these sites are worth more points.

StumbleUpon & Digg can bring you a LOT of traffic to your website if used correctly. Just set up an account, make friends with people and stumble/digg GREAT content when you find it. The GOAL is that every member of TSA will have a Stumble button & Digg button on their blog so when you read their content, all you ‘should’ have to do is to hit the buttons which counts as a vote towards the person’s content as well as a syndication point.

Important Note: When you publish your own content from your own blog, MAKE SURE you ONLY submit your BEST posts to StumbleUpon/Digg first. This will make it much easier for others to just hit the vote button.

DON’T submit all your posts because it will ruin your chances of getting ranked highly.

thatMLMbeat (For Network Marketers)

If you are a Network Marketer you should already have your BEAT plugin button set up and ready to go. If you struggle getting it set up, head on over to http://www.facebook.com/thatmlmbeat and contact George Fourie (The owner of TMB) and he’ll help you get it working.

If you are a network marketer yourself and you find a blog which has thatMLMbeat’s BEAT plugin enabled, please ensure you vote for the person’s content by clicking on the submit button. By doing this you will dramatically help them get their content pushed up to the top of the front page of thatMLMbeat.

(Even if you are not a network marketer, if you’d like to support your friends who are, you can register for a free account at thatmlmbeat.com and instantly be able to “thatMLMbeat” posts for your friends which really helps them out.)

Do NOT Do This…

Do not tag @TSAMastery when you are sharing other people’s content on Facebook or Twitter, unless you are sharing TSAMasteryBlog content. Just like I talked about when you write “you are from TSA” in a blog comment, it destroys the credibility of your sharing of that content.

Please write your feedback, suggestions, questions and takeaways in the comments section below as always.
